Using the Array Configuration Utility
Examples:
InitializeAll=Yes
InitializeAll=No
The Method Keyword
Method is an optional keyword, indicating which method to use
when creating a RAID 5 array. If Method is not specified, the value
Build is used.
Possible values are:
■ Build—Build/verify the array.
■ Clear—Clear the array.
■ Quick Init - Make the array available immediately
Overall, the Build method takes longer than Clear, but it enables
you to begin using the array immediately. Although faster, Clear
must complete before you can begin using the array. Quick Init
makes the array available immediately, but for RAID 5 and RAID 50
write performance will be impacted until a Verify with Fix is run on
the array.
Note: The Method property applies only to redundant
arrays (RAID 1, 10, 5 and 50).
Examples:
Method=Build
WaitForClear=No
The ReadCache Keyword
The ReadCache keyword indicates whether the array uses read
caching.
Possible values are:
■ Yes—Enable read caching.
■ No—Disable read caching.
If no ReadCache property is specified, the value Yes is used.
Example:
ReadCache=Yes
