Using the Array Configuration Utility
Playback Mode
Playback mode enables you to create one or more arrays based on
the properties defined in a script file. It also enables you to configure
certain properties for each channel on the controller.
When you create an array, you can specify any of the properties
listed in Table 13-3.

Property Description
Type Supported array types are:
■ Volume
■ RAID 0 (stripe)
■ RAID 1 (mirror)
■ RAID 5
■ RAID 10 (stripe of mirrors)
■ RAID 50 (stripe of RAID 5)
Size Size of the array to be created. Size can be specified
in megabyte (MB), gigabyte (GB), or terabyte (TB)
units, or Maximum to specify the maximum size
based on the given type and disks.
Label Alphanumeric string uniquely identifying the
array.
StripeSize Size (in KB) of contiguous data distributed across a
“striped” array (RAID 0, RAID 5
, RAID 10, or
RAID 50).
Cache settings You can specify the following values for the caches:
■ ReadCache—Yes (enable), or No (disable)
■ WriteCache—One of the following values:
Yes—Enable when protected
No—Disable
Always—Enable always
Drives Disk drives to use in creating the array. Drives are
identified by their channel number, ID number, and
logical unit number (LUN).
HotspareDrives Disk drives to assign as spare drives for this array.
Drives are identified by their channel number, ID
number, and LUN.
